I would like to start by encouraging you to read the book “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod.
This book has completely changed our perspective and motivated us to improve our morning routine. Hal Elrod, the author of the book, eloquently emphasizes the importance of creating a morning routine that can change your life for good and enable you to live your best life.
When a baby is born, we say that it’s the miracle of life because creating life is something that we humans can’t do.
We can build things, we’ve created AI technology that can do things for us, and we’ve done some extraordinary work in the field of medical science, but giving life is a divine process.
It is done by the higher power and we humans are just the means to bring it to this world. So when a new baby is born, it’s often considered a miracle.
But as we grow up, we forget that this life we’re living is a miraculous gift in itself and we start taking it for granted. We are told as kids that we can become anything or anyone we want to be when we grow up. But as we grow up, most of us settle for a life of mediocrity.
We have every chance to do better in life and become the best version of ourselves, but we often lose sight of what we once dreamed of becoming.
By the time we are adults, most of us are buried deep in debts and loans, have mental and physical health issues, are overweight, slightly depressed, and always stressed. Is this the life we once dreamt of? It’s a rhetorical question, you didn’t have to answer it.
Whether you are a working professional, a stay-at-home mom or dad, or a student, mornings can be stressful and chaotic for most of us.
Waking up in a hurry, thinking you’re already behind schedule, with a to-do list that seems longer than the day itself. Sounds familiar? And then thinking that it’s going to be a long and stressful day and you wish that it were a weekend.
Most of the weekdays are very hectic and stressful, given the fast-paced lives we live today in this digital world. Our weekdays drag on, and weekends fly by. It’s a cycle that repeats itself and we’re stuck in this loop forever.
Always remember this – you’re just as worthy, deserving, and capable of creating a life filled with exceptional health, wealth, and happiness as any other human being on this planet. The only one who is holding you back from becoming your best self is—you guessed it—YOU.
So it’s crystal clear that there is a strong need to change things for good. We all have this one life and we should try our best to make it as fulfilling as possible.
Every day is a new day, a fresh start, a chance to do things differently, and starting your day right can make a world of difference. It all boils down to how you wake up and the choices you make afterward.
We would like to help you in making this change and create a morning routine that will set you on the path to living your absolute best life.
Some insights we’ll be sharing are inspired by the wisdom in “The Miracle Morning,” while others are from our own experiences. So, without any more delay, let’s dive right in and get started.

Why Do You Need A Morning Routine for Living Your Best Life?
We live in a world where we all have a very hectic lifestyle. We juggle between different things, with too much to do and too little time. It feels like we’re in a constant race against the clock, especially in the mornings when the day’s demands start piling up.
Studies show that our stress hormone, cortisol, is at its peak in the morning.
So we wake up thinking about the things we need to do throughout the day, which can be very overwhelming and stressful. And without a proper routine in place, things can quickly spiral out of control.
Mornings, however, are the most productive time of the day. After a night of good sleep, your body and mind are rested, relaxed, and ready to take on new challenges. It’s a time when your mental faculties are at their peak, free from all other thoughts.
This mental clarity allows you to think more sharply, and your focus and concentration levels are at their highest. So, mornings are the prime time to get things done. Consider them as the calm before the storm of daily activities.
But without a structured routine, this precious time can slip away, leaving you more susceptible to the chaos of the day ahead.
If you have a morning routine, you can harness this time to be more productive and set the tone for a more organized, less stressful, and ultimately more fulfilling day. So you must have a morning routine.
9 Ways to Start Your Day With A Mindful Morning Routine
Prepare for Tomorrow
We’ve all been there—the morning hours slip away quickly before the daily chaos kicks in.
Without a solid plan, you might find yourself spending most of that precious time just figuring out what needs to be done. That’s where a bit of planning and preparation the night before can be a game-changer.
When you organize your morning tasks the night before, you set yourself up with a clear plan to follow without wasting time unnecessarily.
Plus, you can do some prep work in advance like iron your clothes, chop those veggies for breakfast, or plan out your morning meal. Once you start doing them, you’ll realize that these little things can make a big difference.
You can avoid the morning rush by doing these small tasks the night before. Doing things at a steady pace will allow you to savor those early hours and kickstart your day with a sense of calm.
As a result, you’ll face the day ahead with the relaxed energy and enthusiasm needed to conquer whatever comes your way.
Wake Up Early
The next step in the process is to wake up early. Now this may sound uncomforting and challenging for you but trust me, waking up a tad earlier can be a game-changer.
You’ve probably heard it before, the most successful people on this planet start their day early. That’s because mornings are the most productive time of the day, giving you enough time to get a lot done.
When we were kids, we needed a solid 8-9 hours of sleep for proper growth, but as adults, our sleep requirements ease up a bit. Still, we need a good 6-8 hours for our bodies to rest, recover, and function at their best.
But we all got only 24 hours in a day and we don’t want to spend more than a third of it sleeping. Striking the right balance between waking up early and ensuring sufficient sleep is key, which means going to bed a bit earlier.
This doesn’t mean that you have to set your alarm for 4 AM. Adjust according to your schedule—maybe an hour or an hour and a half earlier than your usual waking time. Try it out, and you’ll be surprised at how much extra time you’ll have to breeze through your tasks.
So, whatever your current wake-up time is, just add on an extra hour or so. You’ll soon find that this small change can open up a significant window for getting things done efficiently.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that when your alarm goes off, don’t snooze it for another 5 or 10 minutes of sleep.
It’s a very counter-productive thing because what happens when you snooze your alarm is that your brain goes back into the sleep cycle which typically lasts around 75-90 minutes.
And when the alarm goes off again and you wake up after 5-10 minutes, you’re in a state of sleep inertia which significantly impacts your overall productivity.
So when your alarm goes off, it’s your cue to rise and shine. No snoozing allowed. This can significantly impact your mornings and set a positive tone for the day.
The Morning Essentials
Once you’re up, it’s time for the morning essentials like drinking warm water, freshening up, brushing your teeth, washing your face, etc.
These things don’t take much time but they will wake you up and make you feel good and energized to start your day.
Now most people prefer having tea or coffee in the morning but we recommend having ash-gourd juice in the morning as we’ve discussed in detail in our blog “11 Superfoods That Boost Your Immune System and Improve Your Overall Health”. It will cleanse your entire digestive system and will bring clarity to the mind.
But whatever your preferred choice is, whether it’s a cup of tea, coffee, ash-gourd juice, or just warm water, grab a cup or a glass and get ready for the next step which is journaling your thoughts.
Journal Your Thoughts
Now that you have your favorite beverage or juice in hand, it’s time for the next step which is to write your journal.
When you write down your thoughts and emotions in your journal, you’re essentially disconnecting from them and seeing them from a distance which allows you to think more clearly and objectively.
It’s more like having a private conversation with yourself where you write down your aspirations, concerns, and even the small victories from the previous day.
This process not only helps declutter your mind but also provides a tangible record of your thoughts and feelings over time.
You can identify patterns in your thoughts and gain a new perspective on the challenges you’re facing in your life.
You can also maintain a gratitude journal where you can pen down the things you’re grateful for in life and some positive affirmations. It sets the tone for a positive mindset.
Don’t worry about writing perfect sentences or structured paragraphs, it’s about getting your thoughts out and they are just for your eyes only.
It’s up to you whether you want to write in a physical journal or a digital journal that you can use in apps like Goodnotes. Go with the method that suits you.
Positive Affirmations
When you’re journaling, make it a habit to write positive affirmations. You may not realize it but affirmations is one the most potent tool to become the person you need to be for success.
Icons like Muhammad Ali, Will Smith, and Oprah attribute their achievements to the influence of positive thinking and affirmations.
Your self-talk significantly impacts success in all areas of life—confidence, health, happiness, and wealth. Every word you tell yourself, whether positive or negative, directly imprints on your subconscious mind which governs all your actions throughout the day.
If you choose negative self-talk like “I’m not good enough” or “this is beyond me”, then it can lead to self-deprecating habits.
But if you choose positive affirmations like “I am worthy and I deserve this” or “I am capable and I can do this”, then your subconscious mind is programmed accordingly and it will influence your actions in a positive direction that will have a meaningful impact on your life and your endeavors.
We’ve discussed in detail how you can program your subconscious mind through positive talk to achieve everything you want in life in this blog and we encourage you to give it a read.
Visualize Your Success
If you’ve read our blogs on how to manifest everything you’ve always wanted in your life and how to program your subconscious mind for success, you already know the power of visualization.
Along with journaling and positive affirmations, if you include visualization as well in your morning routine, then you’re setting yourself on the path to absolute success.
The law of attraction says that you attract whatever you visualize. So if you visualize yourself already living the life you want for yourself, you’re essentially telling the universe that this is what you want in life and this is what you deserve.
Whether you believe in the law of attraction or not, you would agree that you feel positive and motivated when you visualize your success.
When you continue to visualize your success every day, even though it’s for 5 minutes every morning, you’re constantly motivated to work in that direction and take necessary actions. You’ll go above and beyond to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself.
One of the most powerful ways to visualize is by creating a vision board. This blog will tell you all about vision boards and how you can create one for yourself: How To Make A Vision Board For Manifestation
Meditate for Clarity
One of the most important things in the times we’re living in today is meditation. And since every other person is talking about it nowadays, chances are you’ve heard of it.
Meditation is a very powerful practice and studies show that if done properly and regularly, meditation is more powerful than medication.
It has physical health benefits like positive effects on metabolism, blood pressure, and brain activation, and mental health benefits like reduced stress and pain, enhanced focus and concentration, and good sleep.
So many celebrities, public figures, and highly successful people have admitted that meditation is an invaluable part of their lives and they practice it every day.
If you’re hearing about meditation for the first time, chances of which are very slim, meditation is a very simple practice of sitting in a quiet place and focusing your mind for a certain period of time.
Think of it as training your mind where you prepare it to be quiet and not think about something or the other constantly. Yes, your thoughts will wander but the key is to consciously bring them back and focus on your breath.
At first, it will be slightly challenging to focus, but with time and practice you’ll get the hang of it.
Think of meditation as a daily gift to yourself. It’s your mini-vacation from daily stress. Sure, your problems stick around, but after meditating, you’ll tackle them with a clear mind.
You don’t need to be a meditation pro from the get-go Even if your mind races like a pinball, give it time. Start with just five minutes and then gradually extend to 10-15 minutes.
You’ll be surprised how it grows on you. Remember, it’s your mental timeout—no fancy stuff, just peace. Give it a shot, and see how it transforms your day!
Read for Growth
Life is all about learning new things every day. That’s how we grow and become better than we were yesterday. We either learn from our own experiences or someone else’s. And the best way to learn from other’s experiences is through books.
If you want to be successful in life, you need to have the necessary knowledge to get new ideas and create strategies. Books are one of the best ways to do so.
We both have developed this habit of reading at least 5 pages of a book every day. At first, it feels really boring and you need some motivation to do it every day but you start enjoying it after a while. And then it becomes a habit.
Imagine if you read 10 pages every day continuously for the next year, you’ll have read a total of around 3650 pages which is roughly equal to 10-12 books.
Some of those books can be about your work, your passions, and areas like self-help, finance, or life in general. Now imagine the wealth of knowledge and wisdom you’d have gained in just one year.
So make it a habit of reading a few pages each morning, choose books that resonate with your goals, and stay committed. Doing it small but doing it consistently is the secret recipe for success.
And you can apply this to any aspect of your life. If you make reading a few pages of a book a consistent habit, you’ll undoubtedly yield lasting benefits in your personal and professional growth.
Work on Your Passion
Now comes the most important thing, your passion project. If you want to live your best life on your own terms, it goes without saying that you’ll have to work hard to get there.
Some people are fortunate enough to follow their passion from the very beginning and that becomes a full-time job for them. It might not feel like a grind as they are already doing what they enjoy and are following their passion.
But for the rest of us, we have to work our way to get there and do something that we are passionate about and can do for the rest of our lives.
Yes, you’ll have to get a job at first to pay the bills but the important thing is that you don’t have to settle for that and continue doing it for the rest of your lives. Use that job as a stepping stone to something bigger, something that goes beyond just paying bills.
Keep doing that job so that you can survive and work on your passion project on the side. Make time for it every day.
When you wake up an hour or an hour and a half earlier than usual, save an hour or so for your passion project. Something that you want to do for the rest of your life.
If you’re doing a 9-5 like the both of us, it could be something like what this blog is for us. We make sure that we work on this blog every day for a couple of hours in the morning and a few hours in the evenings.
But mornings are the most productive time and that’s when we write our blogs, work on marketing stuff like Pinterest, and research new topics for future blogs.
If you’re already working on what you’re passionate about, use those morning hours to complete the most important tasks of the day. Things that have the highest ROI because then you’ll have done the most time-consuming task of the day.
Wrapping Up
This is more or less our morning routine on most days and it wasn’t like this until a year or so till we read the book “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod.
We incorporated the learnings from this book into our morning routine and tweaked it as per our lifestyle and personal choices. It’s not perfect every day but we try to keep it this way on most days.
As we wrap up this exploration into crafting a mindful morning routine, we want you to remember that every sunrise brings with it an opportunity for a fresh start.
It’s not about overhauling your entire life overnight, but about small, intentional steps each morning.
In those early hours before the world awakens, you have the power to shape your day, set positive intentions, and invest in your well-being.
Whether it’s sipping on a warm beverage or fresh ash-gourd juice, journaling your thoughts, or immersing yourself in a good book, doing these simple things every morning can bring about a very positive change in your life.
Use these early hours to work on your passion project, that thing you dream of doing for a lifetime. Give this routine as a gift to yourself, an investment in a life that aligns with your aspirations.
It’s about making choices that resonate with your goals and nurturing a mindset of growth. So, make these morning moments count, be consistent, and watch as the cumulative impact transforms not just your mornings but your entire day and, ultimately, your life.
Here’s to living your best life—one mindful morning at a time. Namaste!
